I received a computer that was opening ads after loading webpages. The browsers (Chrome and IE) were redirecting to adfoc.us page. The computer was recently reinstalled with Windows 7 and had Microsoft Security Essentials installed. The owner was for a few days in Italy and returned home (in Romania) with this problem.
The strange thing is that his phone (Android OS) is having redirects to adfoc.us both in Italy and Romania.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X200s that has received a SSD instead of it’s 250GB HDD.
After reinstalling Windows 7 PRO x64, the integrated camera was not detected by Skype or Yahoo Messenger.
After checking BIOS settings and verifing that the camera is enabled i decided to update the BIOS.

To enable Java 7 Update tab in Java Control Panel go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\ and create a shortcut to javacpl.exe on the Desktop.
Edit the shortcut, and add to target : -tab update

Because HP is now requesting money for some of their software and updates, i had to use a live Ubuntu 14.04 x64 disc in order to upgrade the firmware for HP P420 SAS Controller. I needed to try this update because on my HP ML310e Gen8 v2 servers (i have two), the controller is not initalised at cold boot. The problem is described here.
